About BLACK+DECKER 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner
Overall Feedback:
75% positive
66% highlighted the control options, yet 34% found them complex
The evaporative-cooler has remote and on-unit controls.
The louver on my model is supposed to be automatic but it never opens unless I do it manually. It barely opens enough to pull it up.
I faced an issue with the evaporative-cooler and finally figured out that it was not draining properly. I had not been draining the condensation, which caused the unit to turn off repeatedly.
69% were satisfied with the filter quality; although 31% weren't
I am disappointed that the AC is no longer blowing cold air, especially during a heat wave.
76% found it quiet to operate,; however, 24% noticed vibration
The noise level of the evaporative-cooler is similar to that of a normal window air conditioner, and I am not bothered by the white noise.
The evaporative-cooler sits right next to me and is kind of loud, but I am hard of hearing.
The noise level of the evaporative-cooler is similar to that of a normal window a/c and it doesn't bother me.
The unit produces a loud noise, similar to an airplane taking off, and turns itself on and off loudly, making it impossible to sleep.
At times, the evaporative-cooler sounds like a dirt bike due to its high noise level.
When turning off, the evaporative-cooler is noisy.
62% appreciated the water tank capacity; however, 38% found it cumbersome
The water tank capacity of the evaporative-cooler is limited and it shuts down when full of condensate.
I used the unit for less than 8 minutes and it threw a code showing it was full of water, even though I had just emptied the tank. It shut off again after being full in less than 8 minutes.
After running the device on cool all night, I noticed a red tank full light on it.
I expected the air compressor to run all night, regardless of the room's temperature, with 'auto' mode disabled. The cycle repeated nearly every 30 minutes, all night, waking me up each time the unit's air compressor turned on or off.
