About Janome Memory Craft 500e LE Embroidery Machine
Overall Feedback:
75% positive
75% praised the automated thread cutting
The machine is very easy to use and smart.
67% appreciated the design capabilities, but 33% found it limited
I suggest that if someone needs to learn CNC embroidery, they should start with something less expensive before moving to this machine.
If I had received a machine that worked correctly, my review would have been a 5-star review.
Don't buy the machine unless you're interested in embroidering home projects or simple stuff. It doesn't come with digitizing software and costs as much as the machine or more.
79% found it easy to use
The machine is superbly dependable and easy to use. It's quiet and has a minor learning curve. I advise using like for like threads, bobbin, and spool and maintaining it as per instructions. It's also smart.
68% appreciated the fabric compatibility, though 32% struggled
I'm not sure if it was due to user error, bad thread or something wrong with the machine, but the thread kept breaking off inside the machine.
65% appreciated the easy maintenance, though 35% struggled
I have used the machine for over 500 times in the first year without any major issues, except for operator error. It is easy to maintain.
If you have older designs that you want to use with this machine, it is suggested to get a CF card reader.
Janome machines, like any other brand, require service and maintenance. They are complex and computerized machines.
The embroidery machine keeps breaking thread for no reason. I have checked every forum to fix it but it is a common issue.
72% praised the stitch quality, while 28% didn't
The machine is quiet but temperamental. Mixing threads, bobbin, and spool can cause issues, so it's best to use like for like. If a needle breaks, look for the broken piece. Any unfamiliar noise could be due to a broken end of the needle.
The machine keeps breaking thread for no reason and I have checked every forum to fix it, but it seems to be a common issue.
I love how the automatic threader snaps into the needle in less than a blink of an eye on this machine. The SE400 has an automatic threader too, but it's more of a manual process.
