About Brother PE800 Embroidery Machine, 138 Built-in Designs, 5" x 7" Hoop Area
71% praised the automated thread cutting
I love how the automatic threader snaps into the needle in less than a blink of an eye on this machine. The SE400 has an automatic threader too, but it's more of a manual process.
PE800 has features like adding and editing multiple designs and fonts on screen, placing letters in an arc and on 2 lines, dragging and dropping embroidery patterns, and moving and positioning the pattern with the touch of my finger.
I replaced my old machine with this model and found it much nicer to work with, easier to use, and with new features that simplify the operation.
64% appreciated the design capabilities, but 36% found it limited
The PE800 is easy to use with a color screen and many features like adding and editing multiple designs and fonts on screen, placing letters in an arc and on 2 lines, dragging and dropping embroidery patterns, and moving and positioning the pattern with the touch of the finger.
I exclusively use Hatch 2 for my designs, so I cannot comment on the machine's design capabilities.
76% found it easy to use
I found the machine easy to use and found plenty of informative videos on YouTube when I had a question.
I find this machine extremely easy to learn and use. Threading is a breeze and I have been using it for a couple of days, getting used to it. I am quite amazed at how easy it is.
64% appreciated the fabric compatibility
I faced issues with fabric hooping while embroidering a letter for the first time, but the second and third attempts went better.
68% appreciated the easy maintenance, though 32% struggled
I have been experiencing tension issues with the machine, which is well known for tension malfunctions by repair shops.
I noticed that the machine seized up again due to lack of grease inside, indicating poor maintenance.
The machine ruins almost every embroidery project on any type of fabric with all types of stabilizer and makes terrifying noises.
I have noticed that the thread clumps and breaks under the foot, requiring me to take it apart and remove the tangle. Despite setting the tension according to Brother, the default continues.
79% liked the quiet operation, though 21% found it still loud
I noticed that the machine started making loud noise in the bobbin casing area and then jammed on the thread.
70% praised the stitch quality, while 30% didn't
If I use quality thread, it won't happen much.
The plus mark on the screen shows where the stitching will be, eliminating the guessing game.
I suspected there would be some stitches on the stitch count with an open box machine, but one of the machines had an unexpectedly high stitch count of 277,502.
