About GE 6-Outlet Extender, Side Access Wall Tap
Overall Feedback:
80% positive
72% appreciated the safety features, though 28% raised concerns
I blew a fuse when I plugged in several power-consuming appliances as the outlet had no surge protection.
80% liked the number of available outlets, but 20% found it insufficient
The 6-outlet splitter/tap eliminates wasted space behind things, but its design is a bit curious. Some plugs are difficult to insert completely due to a slight beveled edge and the outlets are inverted from side to side.
97% liked the ease of use, while 3% found it confusing at times
The electrical-multi-outlets are very convenient to use with 6 plugs on both sides, even when there is a switch on the side, and they save some real estate space.
The redundant ground pin can be easily removed with a pair of pliers and is made of solid brass.
The outlet splitter has a slight beveled edge which makes some plugs difficult to insert completely and the outlets are inverted from side to side.
88% highlighted the durability, but 12% mentioned it wore out quickly
The electrical multi-outlet has a slight taper where it meets the wall, which prevents the oblong power adaptor from being plugged in all the way.
My experience with the multi-outlet is that its shape doesn't hold plugs in place, which defeats the purpose.
78% were satisfied with the long cord length
I use the outlet extender in the bathroom to plug in various appliances, including the toothbrush charger, water flosser, small dehumidifier, and battery charger.
I bought these outlets for my kitchen to ensure that the cords of my appliances do not stick out and hug the wall better.
This design is better than a power strip for under the sink installations as it reduces the risk of electrical short circuit due to water leakages.
