The circuit breaker should protect my house wiring by opening at the outlet if it's overloaded, not protecting the overload to my house wiring.
I chose this outlet tap because it has an internal circuit breaker, which provides an additional layer of protection. This is especially useful when multiple devices are plugged in, as it prevents the whole area from being disrupted if something draws too much power.
I found the inside of the outlet to be black while removing it from the wall while painting the room. This raises concerns about voltage protection.
