About Stiebel Eltron Tankless Water Heater
Overall Feedback:
78% positive
94% liked the capacity, but 6% found it insufficient
I discovered that setting the max temp to 110 increased the capacity of my electric-water-heater at a very hot and comfortable temperature.
Rephrased: By setting the max temp to 110, I increased the capacity of my electric-water-heater at a very hot and comfortable temperature.
I have complained that the electric-water-heater is difficult to get hot water from as it does not turn on until 0.7 gallons per minute.
I had to increase the capacity of my breaker box, which cost me a lot of money.
91% appreciated the digital controls
I had an issue with the digital controls of my electric-water-heater and called tech support. They helped me by sending pictures and walking me through the correction process.
The temperature control ensures precise hot water availability without any hassle.
The electric water heater has accurate temperature control with two presets, one of which is set for filling the soaking tub.
The temperature control is outstanding. It maintains precise temperature regardless of flow changes due to sudden requests for water from appliances like the washing machine or toilet.
96% appreciated the durability, but 4% experienced issues
I am not sure about the longevity of my electric-water-heater since it was just installed, but so far I love it.
I tested the product by running two showers simultaneously for an extended period, and there was no interruption in the supply of hot water.
I had only one issue with my electric-water-heater and it was due to improper installation by a contractor.
After a year or two, the unit started tripping the #1 Safety thermal cut out and the temperature started fluctuating wildly between scalding hot and normal temperature.
94% found it easy to install
Installation of the tankless heater is easy if I know basic electric and plumbing and already have 3 legs of 50 amp power running to the unit.
The replacement process is fairly easy for a skilled DIYer and the unit is light and easy to install on the wall.
94% liked the energy-efficient design
I recommend the Stebo Electron tankless water heater to homeowners who want an energy-efficient and space-saving way to heat water.
The electric hot water heater I own is very efficient and more so than my prior ones at other properties.
95% praised the heating performance
The temperature control is outstanding. It maintains precise temperature regardless of flow changes due to sudden requests for water from other sources.
90% liked the quiet operation, while 10% found it noisy
The electric-water-heater takes up very little space and is quiet. It only causes a problem in the shower if laundry is going at the same time, which is easy to remember not to do.
The electric-water-heater is quieter and does not require a vent pipe, but I need a flow rate of 0.77 gpm to activate it.
80% appreciated the safety features, though 20% had concerns
I suggest using a spin down filter on the cold inlet to protect the internals.
During a power failure, the old water heater was safe to use as it used no electricity and vented naturally through a flue. However, this tankless heat-pump water heater does not have this safety feature and does not provide hot water during a power failure.
I discovered that setting the max temp to 110 increased the capacity of my electric-water-heater at a very hot and comfortable temperature.
Rephrased: By setting the max temp to 110, I increased the capacity of my electric-water-heater at a very hot and comfortable temperature.
I was initially worried about the capacity of my electric-water-heater as I purchased a smaller one. However, I ended up lowering the temperature on it to save more energy.
The electric water heater is not powerful enough to supply a single sink even at half water flow.
