About Bosch Electric Mini-Tank Water Heater
71% liked the capacity
The electric-water-heater has a 4 gallon capacity which is sufficient to wash 6-8 baby bottles at a time.
For a 15 minute warm water shower at a reasonable flow rate, the power demand is only 25% of the 1500wH capacity of my 1500X.
66% appreciated the digital controls
Each unit is connected to a WiFi controlled outlet, which turns off during periods of high electrical cost or when I am away.
69% appreciated the durability, but 31% experienced issues
I had to replace the first unit after only 1 year and 6 months of use due to corrosion around the heating element port causing leakage.
My electric-water-heater failed after only 3 years.
My electric-water-heater started leaking after less than two years of very light use.

68% liked the energy-efficient design
I found the electric-water-heater to be super efficient. I used a Kill A Watt meter to measure its energy consumption and found that it used only 8.8kW in its initial 415hrs and then 6.5kW in the next 300hrs. It consumes only 0.021kW/hr (21W/hr) which is awesome. I also compared it with a laptop which uses 50W/hr.
My unit is plugged into a Kill-a-watt meter and it indicates about 1kw/day under normal use at the recommended setting.
The electric-water-heater is very efficient with minimal clicking on and off.
71% praised the heating performance, while 29% experienced issues
I gave the thermostat 4 stars instead of 5 because of its delay or lag.
64% appreciated the safety features, though 36% had concerns
The pressure safety relief valve has a serious leak record.
The thermostat is heating the water more than it should be and staying on too long, which is completely unacceptable and a safety issue.
