About Portable Induction Cooktop
Overall Feedback:
93% positive
88% appreciated the cookware compatibility, while 12% faced problems
I had a cheap, thin compatible pot that I tested the unit with and it became very loud with a buzzing sound. I did a little research and found that some cookware can cause this noisy problem.
92% were impressed with the heat response time
I love the cook top as it heats up quickly and gets the job done in a few minutes, unlike the gas cooking range which takes several minutes to hours to get cooking done.
I heated the pan to 350 degrees within 2 minutes on the cooktop and it was ready to cook.
86% found the safety features helpful
I like the child safety feature of the cooktop the most. Once activated, the temperature cannot be changed even if buttons are pushed.
I like the safety features of the electric-induction-range, such as turning off automatically when there is no cookware on the surface, as well as the child safety lock.
I was initially worried about the safety features of the electric-induction-range, but I did not face any problem while using it on a wooden table. The surface under the cooker did not heat up.
I find the safety feature on the electric-induction-range nice, but it can be annoying to turn it on and set the temperature again if I'm not done cooking when the timer goes off.
91% liked the temperature settings, yet 9% were disappointed
All temperature settings bring the water a bit higher and never below. Setting it to 160F gives around 168F +- 5F.
I need to set the temperature settings in a specific order, which is Set Timer -> Set Watt -> Set Temperature, otherwise it would reset back to default settings.
The temperature preset jumps from 180° (82°C) to 260° (127°C) with no option in between, which seems bizarre to me. Something just above the boiling point of water would seem a no-brainer for a heating element, say around the 220°-230° (104°C-110°C) range.
I was preheating oil for frying and selected 340 degrees, but the unit heated well above 410 degrees. Other temperature settings were also way off like 260 degrees which actually heated the oil to over 380 degrees.
I had a cheap, thin compatible pot that I tested the unit with and it became very loud with a buzzing sound. I did a little research and found that some cookware can cause this noisy problem.
