About CraftyCrocodile 3 in 1 Egg Slicer
Overall Feedback:
87% positive
81% appreciated the versatility
I can slice, dice and wedge eggs with this versatile product.
I can use the egg-slicer to slice mushrooms, berries and other soft food items.
I love egg salad and find this egg slicer very convenient for making it. The perfect chop is just a push away.
83% liked the user-friendly design
The egg slicer fits in a drawer due to its small size.
I have found that this slicer has a smooth action and is the best one I have used.
76% appreciated the stable base
I used a sharp knife to remove the trapped egg pieces from the plastic dicing section without damaging it, indicating that the plastic is stable and can withstand the knife.
74% were impressed with the safety features, while 26% weren't
While using the regular slicer, I noticed a safety issue where the egg gets smashed past the allowed area and into the plastic.
76% liked the grip comfort, although 24% encountered issues
I found the egg slicer to be perfect and comfortable to use.
I have arthritis in my hands and carpel tunnel in both wrists, making it difficult and painful to smash up the eggs.
I found the egg-slicer uncomfortable to grip, resulting in tomato juice squirting everywhere and a smashed tomato.
72% found it easy to clean, whereas 28% struggled
The product is easy to clean, but thin sections require a knife or similar tool. Cleaning immediately after use makes it even easier.
It is easy to clean in the dishwasher.
I put the egg slicer on the top rack of the dishwasher for proper cleaning.
The cleaning process is a minor complaint for me as I primarily use it for dicing eggs for egg salad. The egg bits get wedged into all the nooks and crannies, and I generally need to spend a minute or two with a toothpick to pick everything out. A rinse in the sink will not do it by itself.
The only problem I face is cleaning the plastic dicing section.
The egg slicer is difficult to clean and diced egg pieces stick in the cracks. A small thin brush should be provided by the company to wash the cracks.
Cleaning the dice cutter requires a knife to scrape out the residue, which is disappointing.
The wire grids are difficult to clean as they get stuck with food particles.
80% appreciated the durable construction, but 20% didn't
I have bought 4 of them and they don't last long. The criss-cross wires are too thin and break easily.
I am disappointed with the product as the wires failed just now and it is useless well past the return date.
I feel that the unit is insubstantial and the cutting wires are a fatal flaw.
The egg slicer has thin wires made of plastic which may not be durable if used frequently.
72% highlighted the quality of blades, but 28% didn't
The metal used for cutting is not sharp at all, so it just smashes the egg.
After 2 uses, a couple of the very thin wires on my small chop/dicer separated.
The blade quality is poor as it does not slice the eggs all the way to the end, resulting in completely destroyed eggs at the bottom.
I received a broken cutting wire with my first unit, indicating poor blade quality.
I have used the slicer to slice more than just eggs. It is versatile and can slice bananas, strawberries, mushrooms, butter, and even hotdogs for my grandson's hotdog and beans.
The product is not durable as it fell apart in just 4 months after slicing a dozen soft white mushrooms.
