About Majority Scholars Compact DVD Player, Multi-Region Region Free
Overall Feedback:
66% positive
68% highlighted the audio performance, however 32% didn't
I experienced an annoying audio tick in certain scenes from both outputs of the device, regardless of the audio settings on the TV.
I experienced an extremely high pitched noise that wouldn't go away even after trying different things. The noise stopped only when the electricity to the player was cut.
81% liked the connectivity options, whereas 19% didn't
Having an HDMI cable connection was important for my new TV purchase and it worked well with the player's connection.
I don't think the HDMI connectivity option is worth it. I do like the feature of automatic switching of TV via HDMI signal, but this player doesn't support that feature. It also prevents my other device from doing that any longer.
66% found playback features helpful, yet 34% encountered issues
There is a memory feature that can be toggled on and off. It was useful to me while watching a TV series.
The playback feature of the DVD player forces me to sit through previews without allowing me to click to Root Menu to just play the DVD movie.
70% were satisfied with playback formats support
I can play all my old DVDs instantly on the DVD player with captions or subtitles displayed.
I tested DVDs from two different regions and found no problems with playback, delivering on the region-free playback feature.
66% praised remote control functionality, despite 34% faced challenges
The remote control has too many buttons and the primary functionality of play/pause/forward/reverse is at the bottom, which seems strange to me.
The remote control is too small and the buttons are too close together, making it difficult for me to press only one button. A slightly larger remote with more spacing between the buttons would be nice.
I am dissatisfied with the remote control functionality of the DVD player. The remote is poorly designed with all the buttons for controlling the play buried in the smallest buttons way at the bottom, and it takes 2 hands to operate it.
The remote control is too small and the buttons are too close together to comfortably find them for changing settings. It's not the one pictured in the ad and is an absolute joke.
I am dissatisfied with the remote control functionality of the dvd-player. I have no idea what most of the 45 buttons on the remote do, and there is no manual provided to describe them.
