About Wool Dryer Balls 6 Pack XL, 3" Genuine New Zealand Wool to Core
Overall Feedback:
92% positive
90% praised the lint reduction, but 10% didn't notice a difference
The dryer balls keep filling up the lint trap after several uses.
90% praised the long-lasting performance, but 10% desired more
After using the dryer balls for a few loads, I have noticed two things.
I lost one of the dryer balls on the last load, indicating that it may not be very durable or long-lasting.
79% praised for reducing dryer noise, but 21% didn't
I found that using the dryer balls resulted in no loud noise and allowed me to lower the drying time or temperature.
Dryer balls are not noisy in a large load, but can be noisy with only a few clothes.
While using the dryer balls, I noticed a beating sound in the dryer.
The wool balls are noisy in my dryer, which is a drawback.
90% were impressed with the odor
Dryer balls leave laundry smelling clean without the heavy, cloying scent of most dryer sheets.
Dryer balls create a unique scent that cannot be achieved with any other laundry scent.
90% liked the softening ability, but 10% didn't
I missed the fragrance of my previous liquid softener, but adding a few drops of essential oil on the dryer balls worked again.
The dried items were slightly soft and had a slight scent from the essential oil applied to the balls.
I gave the dryer-balls a 3/5 rating for softness as they seem to have minimal effect.
87% liked the static reduction
I have used the dryer balls around 30 times and I like them enough to buy them again if I had to. I bought them to fluff up down jackets that were stored for winter, which they fluffed up nicely. I also used them on a fluffy blanket that shocks me when I pull it out of the dryer, and there was a noticeable reduction in static. There was still some static, but not so much that I was terrified of touching the blanket like I usually am.
I recommend drying the dryer balls with a wet towel a few times before use to prevent loose wool fibers from shedding onto the laundry. The wet towel helps to release the fibers.
I like to add a drop or two of essential oil to my dryer balls, and the darker color is great because there is no staining or discoloring.
