About Dura-Gold 71" Wide x 65' Long Roll of Pure Blue Pre-Taped Masking Film
Overall Feedback:
81% positive
78% praised the strong adhesive, while 22% found it lacked
I used the tape/plastic while applying primer to my entire home with a paint sprayer and spraying the ceilings the next day. The product's adhesive quality is good as it stayed in place.
The adhesive quality of the product is not good. I found myself getting the thin plastic stuck on the tape, ripping the plastic trying to undo it, and finally just finding another solution.
The film was supposed to prevent paint from flaking off, but it didn't work as expected and the second coat got covered in flakes.
The tape is not very sticky and does not stick great.
72% liked the generous coverage, but 28% found it small
I was able to mask everything in under an hour with the help of this product, making masking easy.
I found that the tape was too narrow to stick to the baseboard.
76% found it easy to handle and maneuver
It was helpful and saved me time to use plastic sheeting instead of taping it first to protect my wood frames and trim from drips.
Masking became so easy that I was able to do it in under an hour.
74% liked its high tear strength, but 26% found it prone to tears
I tried using the film with a different coating, but it flaked off again, indicating poor tear strength.
74% praised the thickness
It saved me time by not having to tape first and then tack plastic sheeting to protect the wood frames and trim from drips.
76% appreciated the water resistance, yet 24% experienced leaks
The film was supposed to prevent paint from flaking off and redepositing on later coats, but it didn't work as expected and paint flakes got all over my second coat.
I used the tape/plastic while applying primer to my entire home with a paint sprayer and spraying the ceilings the next day. The product's adhesive quality is good as it stayed in place.
The plastic sheeting we used clings and sticks to the surface, unlike the 0.7 mil plastic sheeting from Home Depot that constantly slides off unless taped down.
The adhesive quality of the drop-cloth is not good enough for construction projects. It might work with a tape gun-type dispenser but not practical for my experience.
