Sometimes the camera turns off right as I'm rolling around and I get a motion detection alert from the app, meaning that it stops as I'm right about to wake up and cry and I don't see or hear it until I realize it's not working.

Turn off the night vision in settings and the low-light capability will show a clear black & white video.
The night vision of this camera needs improvement as it cannot see outside when placed behind a window screen and focuses on the screen itself.
