The mini size of the treat is perfect for my dog and it doesn't cause weight gain. Although, my dog prefers having 7 or 8 of them at a time.
The treat size is on the larger side of medium and I wouldn't use the term 'small' to describe it. My daughter accidentally bought large ones and I snapped them in half before giving them to my dog. The thickness of these is similar to the large size bones.
