  • What users have to say about PawsPamper Undercoat Rake for Dogs & Cats

I use a furminator style brush on her, but it doesn't work very well to remove some of her fluffy undercoat, so I'll probably use a 10, 12 or 16 blade.

This tool works well and only needs to be used in limited areas, because it does not cause bald spots or skin irritation, as I did the first time I used it on my Newfie.

My short hair cat absolutely loves this comb, and it removes loose hair, as well as the fact that it is smooth on the cat's skin.

It is more of a finishing touch to the thicker spots than a rake would and it caused a lot of bald spots and skin irritation when I used it on my Newfie.

The pin brushes, combs and Furminator were not good for my dogs and the brushes do not get deep enough to get the undercoat shed.

    FAQ

    Q:

I don't want to use it because it looks like it will cut his fur.

    A:

I noticed that it would cut through matted fur when I used it.

    Q:

Is there a size suggestion for an Australian Shepherd?

    A:

I use the large one on cavalier king charles spaniels to get the undercoat out, but I might use a small one on the ears.

    Q:

Which size would you get for a mini australian shepard, about 30-35lb? His coat does get matted, but it's about 2" long max.

    A:

My dogs are both 50 pounds and 60 pounds and the extra-wide works wonders on them.

    Q:

Which blade combo is needed for my slick coat gsd pup?

    A:

The bigger one is better for our gsd.

    Q:

Which combo or blades do I need for a large medium hair shepherd?

    A:

The 9 + 19 combo is an excellent tool for your dog's breed, it's the equivalent of having both the 13-blade and the 20-blade, which is very wide spacing to get through very thick areas, which is ideal for most coat types.
