I tried the rake on my short hair cat and found it great for shedding fur. However, I couldn't use it on my Persian kitten with matted fur under the neck as the brush is big and I didn't want to hurt him.
I love the grooming rakes. All three of my cats find them attractive and come for brush time when I take them outside twice a day. They even line up or butt next in line, which is amazing.
I found the grooming rake to be great for shedding fur. Although, I couldn't use it on my Persian kitten due to the size of the brush and the possibility of hurting her matted fur under the neck.
For big dogs with thick or easy-to-tangle fur, the product would be a better fit.
