Sometimes the HDMI conversion gets bogged down and I have to restart both my TV and my Roku player.
I have complained that the digital-to-analog signal converter is not accurate enough to convert colors in pictures, resulting in washed out, faded, and inaccurate images.
When I watch 4k content, the video signal never goes above 1080p.

If you are dealing with resolutions that do not go above 1080p or video quality is not important for your purposes, the device is good.
I am going to try the jtech one and will update this review in a few days to let you know how it went.
I read another negative review with photos of picture quality being affected by this device, and I also faced the same issue. The colors in the pictures were washed out, faded, and inaccurate.
The product is not compatible with current HDMI (2.1), which means it is not durable and will not support newer devices.
