About Magic Mill Pro Food Dehydrator machine | 7 Stainless Steel Trays | Dryer for Jerky
Overall Feedback:
76% positive
86% appreciated the temperature control , yet 14% didn't
I noticed that this dehydrator only has two temperature settings, 165 degrees and 115 degrees. I usually do my jerky at 165 degrees but the dehydrator never reaches 115 degrees.
85% liked the size and design, but 15% desired more
I initially thought the size of the dehydrator would be an issue, but I later loved it. It tucks neatly onto my countertop, back under the cabinets where it's out of the way, and it is very quiet.
The dehydrator seems too large for a kitchen item, even though it appears smaller in comparison.
I noticed that the item had smaller stainless trays than advertised, which could lead to processing food in more batches than planned.
79% found the airflow system helpful, while 21% encountered issues
This dehydrator works well with high temperature. The jerky that took 6 hours in the other unit, was done in about 5 with this one (both at 165 degrees selected).
I appreciate the airflow system of this dehydrator as it circulates the air more and dries the food more uniformly. I don't need to shift trays around like I had to with the cheap plastic versions.
The heating is fairly even from top to bottom, but the bottom 3 or 4 shelves get less warm. Additionally, the unit heats more on the right half due to the rotation direction of the fan.
92% were impressed with the temperature range
The manual seemed to indicate a 5 degree jump, but it actually has a 1 degree resolution.
90% highlighted the silent operation
I was pleasantly surprised by the silent operation of the fan in the dehydrator, which was one of the biggest surprises for me.
83% liked the capacity, however 17% found it less
I bought a large rubber tub to soak all 11 trays lying flat after using to aid the cleaning process.
I have a dehydrator with 10 trays including 7 stainless steel, 2 solid jelly pans for fruit leather and a plastic grate for smaller chunks. It has a great capacity.
My dehydrator's capacity is less than advertised, which means I have to process food in more batches than planned.
I noticed that this dehydrator only has two temperature settings, 165 degrees and 115 degrees. I usually do my jerky at 165 degrees but the dehydrator never reaches 115 degrees.
I have found that the dehydrator's timer functionality takes the guesswork out of dehydrating treats. The machine automatically turns off after reaching the set time, allowing me to produce healthy snacks while I'm at work without worrying about them.
I found the instructions for the dehydrator useful as they provide information on the temperature and time required for different types of food items.
