After operating the dehumidifier and reading up on them, I realized that the noise level is normal. I even compared it to the air exiting a duct of a forced air heating/cooling system.
When running in the background, the noise level is soft and does not bother me.
I find that the dehumidifier produces a low level humming sound, which I consider more like white noise. Despite being sensitive to sounds and noises, it doesn't bother me at all.
I am satisfied with the noise levels of the device.
