I have found that the filter only needs occasional dusting, even with lots of dogs around. Maintenance has been super easy, which shows my positive sentiment towards the filter type and maintenance feature.
I suggest sealing up the air gaps between the condenser, evaporator, and plastic frame holding them to make the dehumidifier quieter. I have used mastic foil tape for this purpose.
