About FRIGIDAIRE FFAD5033W1 High Humidity 50 Pint Capacity Dehumidifier
Overall Feedback:
70% positive
65% appreciated the quiet operation, but 35% found it loud
On high fan speed, the dehumidifier is a little noisy but less so than my older similar version. On medium speed, it is very inobtrusive.
I noticed that this dehumidifier is not loud, but it does have a steady fan running sound when it kicks on.
This dehumidifier is not loud, but has a steady fan running sound when it kicks on.
The dehumidifier is not very quiet, with provided sound levels. I usually run it overnight, but not in a sleeping area.
On high fan speed, the dehumidifier is relatively quiet but on medium or low fan, it makes an awful lot of noise.
64% were satisfied with the portability features although, 36% weren't
I have other units with carry handles cut into the side of the housing which makes them easier to move around.
The dehumidifier has a retractable handle on both the unit and the removable water container for ease of lifting.
Carrying the unit up and down stairs is awkward due to the retractable handle that slides down into the top.
The dehumidifier lacks a front handle on the bucket, making it awkward to pull out from the side handles and hold onto it while reaching for the inside handle on the top of the bucket.
67% were satisfied with the drainage, but 33% encountered challenges
I am looking for an alternative method of water removal, like using the 'drain' function. I have faced this problem personally while using the dehumidifier.
I can use a drain hose with the dehumidifier or empty it daily.
If I don't use the drain hose option, removing and emptying the tank can be a little awkward.
65% found the filter maintenance hassle-free, however 35% struggled
I like the easy cleaning filter and easy-lift bucket of my 35-pint dehumidifier.
The dehumidifier reminds me to clean the filter every couple of weeks, but it stays clean.
I only shut off the dehumidifier when I need to clean the filter, which is super easy and not often.
I find that the air filter swings out the back and is a little more difficult to remove for cleaning, which is not desirable.
64% liked the energy-efficient design, although 36% desired more
The dehumidifier is efficient.
The dehumidifier's exhaust heats up the room.
The dehumidifier caused a substantial increase in my power usage. Although it is Energy Star rated, it still uses a lot of energy.
On the highest setting, the dehumidifier is most efficient but really loud.
After operating the dehumidifier and reading up on them, I realized that the noise level is normal. I even compared it to the air exiting a duct of a forced air heating/cooling system.
I compared the noise level of the dehumidifier with a small window unit AC running on the lowest setting.
