I have personally experienced that the deck-sealer is effective in waterproofing the floors. It can repair water damage caused by a plant drip by sanding the area until the stain is gone, sealing the area again, and putting 3 more coats of poly on the spot.

If the sealer is not given 4 hours to dry before sanding, it gums up on the sandpaper.
