About Cateye Enduro CC-ED400 Computer
90% praised for its accurate readings
My Cateye computers are sturdy, accurate and dependable.
The cyclometer does the job accurately and reliably.
Both our computers are sturdy, accurate, and dependable.
84% appreciated the long battery life, though 16% experienced quicker drain
I have complained that the odometer resets every time the battery is replaced, which is a problem as I want to see the cumulative distance traveled and not just the distance since the battery ran out. (Note: The unnecessary wording at the start of the sentence has been removed, but the sentence is not concise. It can be further simplified as "My odometer resets every time the battery is replaced, which is a problem as I want to see the cumulative distance traveled.")
I have experienced that the computer design is vulnerable to moisture due to the absence of a seal between the bracket and computer, which can lead to failure. This is based on my experience with other computer brands.
My battery life lasted for all but 6 months.
74% liked the seamless connectivity, but 26% experienced pairing issues
I have not had great luck with wireless units on the market. I am willing to have wires for greater reliability.
72% liked the clear display, but 28% found it difficult
The display is big and easy to see.
I find the display easy to read and I like the features, but there are two things I really don't like.
With sunglasses, it is difficult to see the display as it polarizes.
89% appreciated its durability, though 11% experienced issues in the rain
The heavy-duty wire of this model makes it better than the Velo 7 and less likely to fail than other versions of this basic cyclometer.
I am confident that the computer will be rugged enough for my mountain bike, but only time will tell.
The design of our computer lacks a seal between the bracket and computer, which will eventually cause it to fail due to moisture.
95% found it easy to install, but 5% found the default mount flimsy
The installation process was fairly easy and I provided a brief overview of the steps involved.
Mounting it to the bike was easy and everything is well built. It's heavier for off-road use.
Mounting the bike was easy and everything is well built.
It was fairly easy to program and install, but it took a few tries to get it lined up properly on my bike.

95% found it easy to navigate, but 5% found the menu confusing
I found the reading on the device to be clear and easy to use.
Programmed functions are semi-straightforward, but if you have a nonstandard wheel size, it gets a little more involved. I had to go higher than what the chart listed and then rode around and checked the odo with a GPS, and after a couple tries got it good enough for government work.
Programming the tire size correctly was difficult and required several attempts. Two necessary buttons are recessed on the back of the computer, requiring a pointing device to depress them.
