Vinyl works well on vehicles, cups/tumblers, and laptops.
While using adhesive vinyl, a lot of smaller pieces fell off and got mixed with the rest of the design, making it difficult to weed later.
I tested the vinyl on a glass and found that it is not waterproof. After letting it sit for two days and washing it three times, one edge started to lift and it peeled off easily.
I found that the permanent vinyl had poor adhesion to multiple materials.

I love and swear by TeckWrap's Holographic vinyl, but it still needs some tweaks. However, it could be a good option for beginners, kids projects, etc.
I have used cheaper vinyl that has better quality in terms of adhesion than the one I bought.

I tried to use this craft-adhesive-vinyl by cutting out a detailed Mandala SVG and lots of smaller vinyl pieces fell off, and are pushed around amongst the rest of the design laying on top of it in multiple areas. This makes it much more difficult to weed once that time comes.
