The motor has 10 speeds, but the mixing ignores some of them and only has 3 or 4 levels.
The speed control barely moves from 0-4 and goes into ludicrous speed beyond that.

Using the Vitamix for the first time was scary due to the noise and the top blender piece not locking onto the bottom motor piece, which rotates slightly when the blender is on.
The blender doesn't have a safety switch in the back, which is a minor annoyance. If plugged in, it's ready to go.

The noise level depends on the speed level. I haven't needed to use super high speed to get a great blend, so noise isn't an issue for me. Even at top speeds, it's loud, but still not a problem for me.
The blender is really loud at full power, sounding like a small airplane landing in the kitchen. I expected this after reading reviews before buying it.
I have to wear ear muff style hearing protectors due to the high noise level.

The blender is a great value and easy to clean.
Cleaning the product is incredibly easy and usually just requires a rinse. Occasionally, I do a clean with detergent as shown in the videos.
I love how easy it is to clean the blender and the specific steps to clean it.
