The carafe is plastic but very easy to clean.
There are tiny drain holes in the base of the blender which allow any water to pass through and the carafe comes out of the dishwasher pretty much dry.
Cleaning the blender is super easy. Just pull out the blade and give it and the pitcher a fast rinse in the sink and you're done.
