About LEGENDARY CHEF Culinary Cooking Torch
Overall Feedback:
74% positive
70% liked the easy-to-clean design, but 30% found it a hassle
I am looking for a cheap torch for everyday use while cooking, baking, or cake decorating.
I am dissatisfied with the tool's instructions as they are poor and unclear.
64% were impressed with the sleek design, but 36% weren't
The torch has a basic safety lock to prevent it from going off when not needed.
In person, the product looks different than in the photos.
I am dissatisfied with the base design of the product as it is too tight to mate with the standard butane can and requires unscrewing the tiny screws for refilling.
The refill port design is off-center and the bottom shape/depth doesn't allow refilling with standard size butane gas canister.
64% liked the flame control, but 36% found it difficult to adjust
After use, fuel leaks out and turns the torch into a flame thrower.
After filling the cooking torch, I noticed it produced a massive yellow flame which could be a problem with its flame control feature.
After using it a few times, it started misfiring and now it takes 15-20 triggers for me to light.
After adjusting the ignition, I noticed that the flame is still very small.
I suffered first-degree burns on my hands, face, and arms when the torch erupted in a ball of flame. It appears that the flame control is inadequate.
The flame did something that is not supposed to happen.
67% liked the long-lasting fuel life, but 33% found it ran out quickly
The bottom design prevents refilling with standard size butane gas canister.
I need to fill the torch often depending on how frequently I use it because it doesn't hold a lot of butane.
66% appreciated the comfortable grip, while 34% found it slippery
I bought this legendary chef torch, filled it with butane, pressed the button and it erupted in a ball of flame that gave me first-degree burns on my hands, face, and arms.
66% praised the safety features, but 34% desired more
The best thing about this large lighter is the ability to adjust the flame from high to low using the turn dial, which is a safety feature.
I have experienced first-degree burns on my hands, face, and arms while using this cooking torch. It is dangerous to use and even burnt some hair off my head, face, and arms. I had to go to the ER to get checked out and make sure my throat and nostrils were okay.
67% appreciated the lightweight design, while 33% found it heavy
I bought a legendary chef torch, filled it with butane, pressed the button and it erupted in a ball of flame that gave me first-degree burns on my hands, face, and arms.
The refill port is off-center and the bottom shape/depth doesn't allow refilling with standard size butane gas canister.
I had to buy butane to go with the torch and ordered it based on the recommendation. However, the bottle of butane I received did not work with the torch.
