About Kensington Pro Fit Ergo Vertical Wireless Trackball
65% appreciated the adjustable settings
The product is good, but it could have been better if the tilt could be adjusted towards a full 90 degrees.
The angle at which I have canted the trackball is near perfect for me.
I can reconfigure the button functions and adjust the speed sensitivity and accelerating rate of the cursor.
66% liked the easy connectivity, but 34% found it difficult
The trackball supports both 2.4ghz and Bluetooth connections, which is useful in areas with high radio flux. As a ham radio operator, my home radiates as much radio flux as a small star, and I have personally faced this issue while using the trackball.
I use at least four connections regularly, but the MX Ergo supports only two connections.
I tried using the wireless dongle after using it via Bluetooth, but it did not work.
64% liked its durability, but 36% experienced wear and tear
My M570 was failing after a year or two and I decided not to reward Logitech for building a junk product.
I find the product worthless due to the absence of a durable scroll wheel.
66% appreciated the comfortable grip, 34% found it uncomfortable
I found the ergonomics of this trackball to be very good and I liked the M570 very much. I wanted something that was as comfortable or even better, so I tried several mouses before settling on this one.
The tapered rim provides thumb support and serves as a balancing support for fine control, similar to writing with an arm on the table after years of writing without support.
The device is not comfortable to hold as my fingers overhang the button and the trackball when the mouse is in my hand. I have to scoot my hand back so my fingers fit, which makes my palm rest against the desk and is not the most comfortable position. I compared it with M570 which fits well within my hand.
71% liked the quiet operation, but 29% found it noisy
The constant system alert noise of disconnection and delay of reconnecting when waking the trackball from idling is obnoxious and inconvenient.
63% praised the high-quality sensor, while 37% experienced accuracy issues
The Kensington trackball has a better sensor quality with the ability to switch between 400, 800, and 1,500 dpi, while the m570 has a fixed 400dpi.
I noticed that a small amount of dust buildup on the tiny tracking sensors can make the ball get stuck occasionally.
I did not examine the trackball section of the mouse thoroughly and realized that taking the ball out to clean the sensors will be more difficult.
