About Kensington Orbit Mouse - Wired Ergonomic TrackBall Mouse
Overall Feedback:
80% positive
71% liked the easy connectivity, but 29% found it difficult
The wheel is a great addition to the trackball, allowing for easy scrolling without strain.
I have had to use a short USB extension lead as the USB cable is too short for my setup to reach the USB port at the back.
80% liked its durability, but 20% experienced wear and tear
My trackball mouse's scroll wheel is still smooth after 8 years of use.
I feel the materials used are a bit flimsy, but I am not sure about the durability yet.
After a year, the left button failed to register, indicating that the product may not be durable.
82% appreciated the comfortable grip
I find this trackball more comfortable than my old Logitech, despite it being slightly larger. I prefer to work with it on my lap, and the design allows for comfortable use without any wrist strain.
77% liked the quiet operation, but 23% found it noisy
The trackball is too sensitive and easy to move, even breathing can cause the pointer to move.
After 14 months, the replacement trackball began to fail.
69% praised the high-quality sensor, while 31% experienced accuracy issues
The key feature I purchased it for is the scrolling ring that surrounds the ball.
The scroll ring was great for the first 5 minutes, flowed freely and was easy to spin.
I have to clean the inside sensors of the trackball weekly due to accumulation of crud and dead skin.
The device has better ergonomics and supports a better wrist angle than the original Trackman. It's like a wired version of the Logitech MX Ergo, which has a more ergonomic, vertically angled base than the original or the MX570.
Sometimes I accidentally activate the side buttons when positioning the mouse on my desktop. This could be a problem for users who cannot adjust the trackball according to their preference.
