About ELECOM 2.4GHz Wireless Thumb-Operated Trackball Mouse
Overall Feedback:
85% positive
74% liked the easy connectivity, but 26% found it difficult
I would prefer a smaller trackball like the Kensington Bluetooth SlimBlade Trackball Mouse Wireless K72281US, which has Bluetooth connectivity instead of RF, saving me a USB port on my Dell XPS 18.
The Elecom software is incompatible with newer versions of macOS, limiting control of some functions like the extra buttons and horizontal scrolling speed.
83% liked its durability, but 17% experienced wear and tear
I have compared the build quality of Elecom trackball with Logitech M570 and found Elecom to be far superior.
I have been using the product for a couple of months now and have faced no issues with the quality.
I believe the bearings are made of artificial ruby and anticipate they will last well.
I gave 2 stars due to lack of durability and it failing to last a year, despite working wonderfully initially.
84% appreciated the comfortable grip
The rubber feet of the trackball securely grip on to a desk surface.
The trackball has an excellent design for comfort, especially for someone with larger hands (but it should be comfortable for all).
The trackball feels great in my hand, but it takes some time to get used to the extra curve. I compared it with LOGI, which was flatter.
75% liked the quiet operation, but 25% found it noisy
If I am already familiar with trackballs, I will likely be disappointed.
I could feel the ball grinding on the bearings inside the body, indicating that the noise level is high.
70% praised the high-quality sensor, while 30% experienced accuracy issues
I wish the mouse used a laser instead of an optical sensor to read the position of the ball.
I would prefer a smaller trackball like the Kensington Bluetooth SlimBlade Trackball Mouse Wireless K72281US, which has Bluetooth connectivity instead of RF, saving me a USB port on my Dell XPS 18.
The finger position for the buttons has greatly improved since the M-DT series. The right click and Fn3 buttons fit right under my ring and pinky fingers, leaving my index and middle fingers to control the ball.
