About ELECOM 2.4GHz Wireless Thumb-Operated Trackball Mouse
Overall Feedback:
72% positive
69% appreciated the adjustable settings, but 31% found them limited
I am having trouble transitioning from index finger to thumb.
When I need to make small movements, the track ball is not usable, but it works fine for high speed movements.
69% liked the easy connectivity, but 31% found it difficult
I prefer this USB wired device as it does not have any interference from WiFi, unlike the wireless trackballs I have used.
I switched to this trackball because of poor signal stability on the Logitech product.
71% liked its durability, but 29% experienced wear and tear
I have been using ELECOM trackballs for over a year with no sign of defects. They seem indestructible and operate perfectly smooth.
I find the build quality of this mouse far superior to the Logitech M570, which is a positive aspect of its durability.
I have been using the trackball for a couple of months now and have not faced any issues with the quality.
I am disappointed with the product as it did not last long and was a waste of money.
75% appreciated the comfortable grip, 25% found it uncomfortable
The rubber feet of the trackball are large and grip the desk surface securely.
The design of the trackball is excellent in terms of comfort, especially for someone with larger hands. It should be comfortable for all users.
The EX-G is more comfortable to use than the newer EX-G Pro design. The higher arch fits the palm better and hardly induces strain, while the Pro model forces the hand into a flatter posture and is not as enjoyable to use.
The mouse feels more comfortable in my large hands than the more expensive Elecom EX-G Pro.
91% liked the quiet operation, but 9% found it noisy
I had to return the trackball because it was making a loud noise.
I could feel the ball grinding on the bearings inside the body, indicating that the noise level of the computer-trackball is high. Compared to Logitech M570 trackball, it feels better and smoother right out of the box.
67% praised the high-quality sensor, while 33% experienced accuracy issues
I wish the mouse had a laser sensor instead of an optical sensor for better accuracy in tasks like Photoshop.
The stock ball requires a lot of wear-in before it feels smooth, which may cause it to feel grind-y for the first week or two of use.
I had to swap in the sensor from the M570 as the mouse sensor did not work well with the ball it comes with.
The finger position for the buttons has greatly improved since the M-DT series. The right click and Fn3 buttons fit right under my ring and pinky fingers, leaving my index and middle fingers to control the ball.
I suggest using the Mouse Assistant Software to reduce the mouse sensitivity until I get used to using my thumb.
