About ELECOM DEFT PRO Trackball Mouse
83% appreciated the adjustable settings, but 17% found them limited
I had to adjust some button mappings for my habits, but it was very straightforward.
After installing aftermarket bearings, I still can't make micro-adjustments. I can't use high DPI for accuracy and low DPI for long distances across the screen.
The ball protrudes too high for my fingers. The smaller Deft fits right in my palm and the hand rest area is taller and more steeply angled.
Changing the DPI did not help much.
82% liked the easy connectivity, but 18% found it difficult
I chose the wired micro-USB option for this trackball because it doesn't require a driver to work with, especially when I'm working in macOS Terminal. It offers a lot of connectivity options.
The wireless connection services of the mouse are solid and it stays connected fairly reliably.
Bluetooth works sometimes but gets a bit weird sometimes.
72% liked its durability, but 28% experienced wear and tear
The built quality of this product is much superior to Huge. It has great pointer accuracy, cups the palms just right at a good angle, nice tactile buttons, and great built quality through and through.
Over time, the smoothness of the trackball has improved.
I have personally experienced the durability issue with the right mouse click being in a sometimes hard to reach location on a button that may or may not click.
Changing sapphire bearings on my Kensington trackball was a pain, indicating a negative experience with its durability.
86% appreciated the comfortable grip, 14% found it uncomfortable
The back end of the mouse is small enough for full palm grip with small hands, but the right shape for claw grip with large hands and both feel great.
The Deft Pro has a bulky design and is bigger than the actual Deft Pro.
I have always had hand cramps because of the pinch position of the mouse, indicating that the grip comfort of the trackball is not good enough for me.
I find the ball protrudes too high up for my fingers to be comfortable.
82% liked the quiet operation, but 18% found it noisy
I have been using the trackball for almost two years and find the battery life usable.
I did not mention the noise level of the computer-trackballs.
Occasionally, the ball gets noisy from small debris.
I find the clicks of the Deft Pro loud and distracting, while the Bitra has nearly silent clicks.

80% praised the high-quality sensor, while 20% experienced accuracy issues
Overall, my experience with the trackball is great, except for the spike on the axis of the scroll wheel. I compared it with my previous trackball model and found that it would eventually wear out after a few days, but it is still acceptable.
I think there is a serious design flaw in placing the little support balls as the ball movement binds particularly when moving at certain angles, showing my negative sentiment towards the sensor quality of the trackball.
The right mouse click is in a sometimes hard to reach location on a button which may or may not click, which disqualifies it as a high quality gaming mouse.
