About ELECOM Bitra Small Travel Trackball Mouse
Overall Feedback:
82% positive
86% appreciated the adjustable settings, but 14% found them limited
When I use this trackball, I find the cursor speed a little too fast.
88% liked the easy connectivity, but 12% found it difficult
This product is suitable for die-hard trackball users who need a packable wireless option.
Elecom is a Bluetooth LE device and won't pair with a laptop lacking Bluetooth 4.0. Bluetooth 4 or 5 can be added to a laptop with a compact dongle.
When I use the trackball with 2 different laptops, I have to reconnect the device in bluetooth settings. This is different from my previous Logitech MX2 that is automatically recognized by multiple computers without having to go into setup mode each time.
The ergonomics of the Elecom device do not work for me.
89% liked its durability, but 11% experienced wear and tear
I have observed that the device requires only 1 AAA battery and is not rechargeable.
81% appreciated the comfortable grip, 19% found it uncomfortable
I find the grip comfort of this trackball better than the Deft Pro as my index finger doesn't feel overextended.
I have small hands and find the button placement poor due to the small and portable size.
82% liked the quiet operation, but 18% found it noisy
I only need to use 1 AAA battery for the device, but it is not rechargeable.
85% praised the high-quality sensor, while 15% experienced accuracy issues
When using this trackball, I find the cursor speed a little too fast. However, there is a small hardware button to switch between two DPI settings. One setting is too fast, even with my Mouse Speed cranked as low as it will go in Ubuntu 18.04. The slower DPI setting is still faster than my Kensington Slimblade, but it works fine if I tweak my Mouse Speed settings.
The tablet has options to adjust wireless signal strength and tracking sensitivity for faster speed or longer battery life, and its battery life is solid.
I suggest using the Mouse Assistant Software to reduce the mouse sensitivity until I get used to using my thumb.
