The clamp sits well in any direction and the speaker sounds great even if it is on a side.
The speaker controls are integrated with the OS, so turning down the volume also turns down the system sound. It's a 1 wire speaker with a clamp, making it easier to carry around with my laptop.
I have a problem with the mute button on my keyboard. The red light doesn't come on when I push it, even though the volume control on the unit is tied to the volume control on the keyboard.
