I have personally experienced that the speakers are fairly quiet even when sitting just 2 feet away, requiring the volume to be almost half max to hear clearly. At higher volumes, the sound quality gets a somewhat piercing, tinny quality, resulting in negative feedback for the computer-speakers.
The sound quality is cheap and the bass is overbearing, making it impossible to adjust the volume without disturbing others.

I have experienced the difference in audio output power based on the power source. The USB-C power source makes a huge difference in the capability of the speakers, as they are 8 watts compared to the regular USB-A speakers which are only around 4 watts.
