About PreSonus Studio 24c 2x2, 192 kHz, USB-C Audio Interface
Overall Feedback:
73% positive
82% liked the rugged and durable build
When I held it in my hands, I could tell that someone put a lot of thought into it and didn't cut any corners in materials.
I like the build quality of PreSonus Studio 24c very much.
I find the build quality of this audio interface great with fantastic sound and an impressive set of features.
80% found it compatible
The device works on a Mac without any drivers as it is bus powered and USB class-compliant.
The integration with my recording software was seamless.
79% appreciated the variety of connectivity, but 21% found them limited
There is no direct monitoring in stereo, which is a significant oversight.
I was expecting the USB-C to help with latency, but it did not make much of a difference. The internet says that the USB speed is still at 2.0 for compatibility, which I wish was not the case.
88% praised for its crisp and clear sound, while 12% noticed some distortion
The preamps on this device have a clean and deep sound, but the gain is slightly lower than the Focusrite Scarlett range, resulting in a different sound.
I like the build quality of PreSonus Studio 24c, but I found a serious issue with it.
The only issue I had with the product was the output DAC, which had a terrible noise floor, making it almost impossible to use with my monitors to mix with.
86% found the user interface intuitive, but 14% found it confusing
The interface seamlessly integrated with our recording software and is compact and robust.
I am dissatisfied with the Axe I/O interface because it has extra features that I do not use, making the unit cluttered with unnecessary buttons, knobs, and inputs.
I had to do something with this new interface that I didn't have to do with my old Line6. I'll probably switch back to my old one after returning this.
The product is made of plastic and some people are worked up about it. However, I think it is good construction and all the jacks seem good and strong.
