The build quality of the device is nice with a metal case that is always a plus. The knobs feel very pleasant to turn.
I look at build quality (tight tolerances), preamp noise, and dynamic range.

This audio interface is compatible with my Rode Procaster microphone that requires a significant amount of gain and can take it to -3dB with low background noise level.
I have noticed that the device has an issue with certain AMD systems, particularly older Ryzens, where the connection drops.
On paper, the product has great specs but unfortunately, it is not compatible with Windows due to bad audio drivers.

I suggest improving sound quality without buying expensive audio monitors by plugging the speakers into the headphone monitor jack on the MOTU and setting Windows to use it for both input and output, replacing the soundcard.
I chose the Motu M2 over the Scarlett 2i2 for its sound quality.
The interface has excellent sound quality, but there are constant audio drop outs on playback on my Windows 10 laptop (Thinkpad X1).
Not only did the audio cut out in sections, but the audio quality was severely altered after the cut out.
