About TP-Link TL-SG2210P V3| Jetstream 8 Port Gigabit Smart Managed PoE Switch
Overall Feedback:
76% positive
74% liked its broad compatibility, while 26% experienced compatibility issues
I believe that the POE switch version 1 is not end of life, despite what several reviews say.
In my opinion, the Omada Cloud Controller is where the networking side really shines.
Each firmware upgrade blew out the settings on my switch.
66% praised for its redundant fan design, while 34% experienced fan failure issues
The fans of the switch are annoyingly loud even at their lowest factory speed operation.
The fan is loud and I'm unsure if it needs to run on full speed all the time. The air coming out of it doesn't seem very warm.
70% praised for its easy management features, while 30% found it complicated to set up
When I use the Omada controller with other TP-Link network products, I get a full end-to-end network management experience.
I like the management interfaces of the switch, they are clearly in a league above TP-Links more consumer fare.
I am an IT guy and I wanted the management features, but they are poorly implemented.
68% liked the flexible mounting options, but 32% found it difficult to install
The product came with mounting brackets for the rack, but there was only one set of screws to attach the bracket to the device and none to mount it to the rack.
82% praised for its fast network speeds, while 18% experienced slow connectivity
I significantly improved my network performance within 2 minutes of using the product.
I faced an issue with the upload test on speedtest.net freezing up and bogging down my whole network.
66% liked the quiet operation, but 34% found it too loud
The switch is surprisingly loud with fans that spin at high throttle even when idle. They were so loud that I couldn't sleep.
The fans are annoyingly loud even at their lowest factory speed operation and can be heard from a couple of feet away from behind a closed indoor closet door.
The switch is fairly loud and can be heard from across the hall in another room.
The fan is not suitable for open air of an occupied room and can be a problem at night with a full complement of eight PTZ cameras.
68% liked the ample port count, but 32% needed more ports for their setup
I am running 5 devices POE and have no issue powering them, not even at night when the IR LEDs kick on.
My budget for the POE 1 line is 30W, but it counts all other lines, so the whole device budget is just 30W - not 63W.
75% appreciated the durable construction, while 25% noticed flimsy parts
I am impressed with the build quality and value of the switch. It is a good value for the price.
The fan is super loud.
69% appreciated the robust security features, while 31% found them inadequate
Using a switch provides better security as devices are not WiFi connected with the default password, which can be stolen by hackers or neighbors.
I was able to diagnose a loopback issue clogging up my network through the web interface within minutes.
This could be a security issue as the switch reverts to default password, allowing anyone to connect and change network settings, which could lead to issues with the switch or access to network resources that should be blocked.
I connected the tablet to Comcast Wireless Router and the following smart hubs with no issues.
