About BV-Tech 6 Port PoE+ Switch 60W – 802.3at + 1 High Power PoE Port
Overall Feedback:
87% positive
73% praised for its easy management features
I plugged this device between the NVR and camera and the handshake took about 4 seconds to a clear picture.
81% liked the flexible mounting options
The switches have a sturdy feel to them and the DIN mount on the 10 port is awesome for wall mounting parts of our system.
I prefer the external power brick arrangement of the unit for longevity, as it can be replaced in the future, whereas internal power supplies are not replaceable.
84% praised for its fast network speeds, while 16% experienced slow connectivity
I connect the PoE switch to one of the ports of my house's 1000Mbps ethernet and it runs at 100Mbps with the switch.
The switch has a PoE+ spec of 802.3at, providing 25.5W per port, while the 802.3af spec provides only 15.4W per port.
The switch is only 10/100 and may cause problems when passing large amounts of bandwidth with multiple devices connected.
65% liked the quiet operation, but 35% found it too loud
After plugging this device in between the NVR and camera, the handshake took about 4 seconds to a clear picture.
I noticed that the switch has a noise level issue. With no load, it has +47v on pins 4,5 of each socket, +25 volts on pins 7,8 and also pins 1,2 of socket 1. This means if you connect it to a laptop or printer on those ports - the Ethernet jack will be at +47v - which isn't right.

83% appreciated the durable construction, while 17% noticed flimsy parts
I prefer the external power brick arrangement of this switch for longevity, as it is replaceable down the line, unlike internal power supplies which are not.
I purchased the switch along with some cameras and they worked perfectly with it.
I have noticed two major flaws in the switch. Firstly, a PoE switch should not have power when a non-PoE device is connected. Secondly, the output voltage is low.
92% appreciated the robust security features
I purchased the switch for security camera installs at my in-laws home and it has been running for over a month without any issue. Everything is connected via personally made CAT6 cables.
I use the switch for my NVR system and it was plug and play from day one with no issues.
I tested the compatibility of the switch by setting a port to vlan 8 and another port on standard vlan 1 untagged and both devices could ping each other.
The switch is 802.3af/at compliant, ensuring seamless integration with my PoE-enabled devices and eliminating the need for additional power adapters and clutter.
