About Eightwood WiFi 6E Antenna Tri-Band 6GHz 5GHz 2.4GHz RP-SMA WiFi Antenna Magnet Mount Base
Overall Feedback:
88% positive
81% liked its adjustable features, but 19% found it difficult to adjust
I was able to angle the WiFi connector towards the router and place it far away with its long cable, which increased my stable connection 5X what it was.
The cable is long and flexible, giving more flexibility to mount the antenna than the original one.
After plugging in the antennae, my connection speed improved significantly.
With a longer cable, I found that the Eightwood antenna provided more options to find the ideal location. However, the best signal I could achieve was -70dBm compared to -59 dBm for the original ASUS sharkfin that is limited by its short cable.
84% liked its compatibility with multiple devices, while 16% experienced connectivity issues
The signal strength is much better than the OEM for Bluetooth.
After installing the product, the network connection has been solid throughout the whole house and has not dropped so far.
After buying the antenna, I screwed in the 2 SMA connectors and set it on the back corner of the computer desk. Everything started to work flawlessly.
The adapters on the cable are different from the socket on my Frontier router, which is a standard router and presumably RG58. This means the product is not compatible with my router.
I lost connection with my laptop and only my computer was disconnected, indicating that the product is not compatible with my device.
I tried multiple configurations but could not get it to find the 5Ghz network.
84% appreciated the durable and sturdy build, though 16% experienced hardware failure
The antenna has a good plastic base with a hefty magnet that allows it to attach to the case side without blocking the top case fans.
When I used the Eightwood antenna instead of the original shark fin antenna, I noticed a significant drop in signal strength and download speed on my desktop.
One or both of our antennas are malfunctioning, resulting in poor signal quality.
85% found it easy to set up and install, while 15% encountered difficulties
I found it extremely easy to remove the 2 short dual antennas on the back of the AVR and separate the new antenna connectors to obtain the length needed for the connectors on the back of the AVR.
The cable is long and I could mount the antenna with more flexibility than the original, making the installation easy for me.
The setup worked well with WIFI, providing adequate range and good speed.
The signal strength with the new antenna is worse than the stock antenna.
85% liked the extended range and coverage, but 15% found dead spots
I am picking up 50 broadcasting networks with the antenna, indicating good range and coverage.
The setup worked great with WIFI, providing adequate range and good speed.
Even though my PC is 25 feet away from the router with a half wall in-between, I have no loss of signal.
If you are on the verge of needing more range or if one of your antennas is malfunctioning, buy a higher gain antenna and attach it directly to your WiFi card.
I compared the performance of the Eightwood antenna with the original ASUS sharkfin antenna and found that the Eightwood antenna has a lower signal strength and a significant loss of download speed. I tested the download speed using Ookla Speedtest and found that the best download speed I could achieve with the Eightwood antenna was 185 Mbps compared with 435 Mbps using the stock antenna.
I measured the wifi strength using two different apps on both my iPhone and iPad. The antenna was worse in range strength in all cases.
82% praised for its strong signal strength, while 18% experienced dropped connections
I experienced a significant drop in signal strength and download speed when using this antenna compared to the original shark fin antenna.
After using the antenna, I noticed that the signal strength became worse and it was not better than the stock antenna.
After attaching the antennas, I noticed that the download speed went lower, indicating weak signal strength.
I was able to angle the WiFi connector towards the router and place it far away with its long cable, which increased my stable connection 5X what it was.
I adjusted the antenna by putting it on the back of my monitor with some double sided tape and it solved the problem of poor signal.
