About TREADALT-TEC 2.4G 5.8G 5GHz Small Mini WiFi Bluetooth RP-SMA Antenna
Overall Feedback:
84% positive
88% liked its adjustable features, but 12% found it difficult to adjust
These antennas screw directly into the Wi-Fi ports on the rear I/O of my motherboard.
I recommend these antennas for those who need stubby antennas to make their Bluetooth work on newer motherboards that have integrated it with Wi-Fi and use the ethernet port instead.
The link speed to the router has dropped compared to the old Gigabyte antenna.
When I hide my computer under the desk, I noticed that shorter antennas do not perform well with my bluetooth keyboard.
90% liked its compatibility with multiple devices, while 10% experienced connectivity issues
I noticed a significant difference in the 2G download speeds between this product and the shark fin antenna. This product was a bit faster than the shark fin antenna.
I compared the link speed of the new antenna to the old Gigabyte antenna and noticed a drop in speed.
Shorter antennas do not perform well with my bluetooth keyboard.
88% appreciated the durable and sturdy build, though 12% experienced hardware failure
These antennas will fix the issue of Bluetooth not working on newer motherboards that rolled it into the WiFi and use the ethernet port instead.
I tested the product and compared it with Shark Fin 5G and Shark Fin 2G router bands. The results were very close.
I have noticed that the link speed to the router has dropped with the new antenna. The old antenna consistently achieved a 585Mbps connection rate and sometimes hit the maximum 867Mbps that my motherboard's Intel 7260 WiFi card could handle. The new antenna maxes out at 390Mbps and the signal strength has also decreased by one bar.
The worst thing about this antenna is that it is not standard on all motherboards.
80% liked the extended range and coverage, but 20% found dead spots
I have noticed that the test does not show signal strength over longer distances, but it is specific to my use case.
Rephrased:
The test does not show signal strength over longer distances, but it is specific to my use case.
86% praised for its strong signal strength, while 14% experienced dropped connections
I expected a slight speed loss, but instead experienced a consistent speed gain of about 5-10%.
My signal strength and link speed with the new antenna is not as good as the old one. The old antenna consistently got a 585Mbps connection rate to the router and sometimes hit the maximum 867Mbps that my motherboard's Intel 7260 WiFi card could handle. The new antenna seems to max out at 390Mbps and the signal strength has also lost a bar.
With our bluetooth keyboard, we experience constant connection drops when we hide our computer under the desk due to the shorter antennas not performing well.
The only negative aspect of the product is the size of the connection point.
