These cables work perfectly for charging, but do not support high-speed USB 3+ data rates.
I have noticed that the signal quality of the cable is poor, limiting the charge speed to 244 mA. However, I switched to the second cable included and saw charge speeds of up to 1700 mA, which is what I originally got with the first cable.
My cable passed quality control but still heated up so much that my phone couldn't charge anymore.
