About Bodum Brazil French Press Coffee and Tea Maker, 34 Ounce, Black
Overall Feedback:
86% positive
79% were satisfied with the filter quality
The coffee press filters well and results in a delicious cup of coffee with very little silt.
87% liked the easy-to-clean design
The metal mesh filter is easy to clean and pushes down coffee grinds better than the rubber style Bodum plunger on my other french press.
Cleaning the coffee press was easier than anticipated. I drained the excess water, dumped the majority of the grinds in the trash and the disposal handled it with ease.
It is easy to clean the coffee press with a single pin/screw on the bottom to take off the screens for deep cleaning.
Cleaning the coffee press is easy and can be done by running it with water. The filter area also comes apart in case some coffee grounds get stuck.
82% appreciated the large capacity, but 18% found it too small for groups
When filled to the limit, I can get four mugs of coffee from the coffee press which has a great capacity.
The 34 ounce '8 cup' size is not suitable for making 8 cups of coffee with the lid and plunger inside. It is ideal for individual or couple use.
87% were satisfied with the brew quality
The coffee press makes a nice mellow cup of coffee with perfect brewing temperature and time.
81% were satisfied the heat retention, but 19% noted it cooled quickly
I am impressed with how warm the coffee stays after brewing a full pot. I even put a towel over it to retain the warmth for a bit longer in cooler mornings, but it works fine even without.
If coffee sits in the glass for an extended time, it becomes more sludgy and bitter as the heat escapes easily.
85% liked the high-quality materials, but 15% found some parts felt cheap
After using the coffee press for a few months, I noticed that the metal mesh screen and the circular attachment over it have both bent significantly, indicating that the build quality is not great.
85% appreciated the sturdy build
I accidentally dropped the press and broke a part of it, but it is still in good condition after 2.5 years of usage.
When I put the filter back on, it's a nice and tight fit and I don't get any coffee grounds in my coffee. This is a positive aspect of the product, especially considering my previous experience with French press.
Since there is no filtering, complex oils and such that give coffee its complexity are retained.
