During the design process, we realized that the carafe pours coffee horribly, indicating that our design was not user-friendly.
The coffee machine design is not user-friendly and has two major problems. Firstly, the top of the pot lid collects coffee as it brews and if I grab the pot and immediately pour, any little bit of coffee on the top will pour over the edge onto my counter or feet. Secondly, the inside lip of the pot causes coffee to come out at a slightly off angle, again leaving my counter or floor with drips.

The lid on the carafe twists off easily for cleaning in the dishwasher without the risk of breaking it.
The coffee machine is very easy to clean. The water filter is replaceable and easy to swap out. The filter basket separates from the unit, lifts out easily, and is very easy to rinse out. If the filter basket is overfilled, grounds can adhere to the shower head, but it wipes off easily with a paper towel.
I gave 4 stars for 'Easy to clean' because there is no lip between the platform where I insert the coffee grounds/filter basket and the water reservoir. However, if any grounds fall on the platform, they inevitably fall into the water reservoir, which means that I will have to clean it out and scrub it once or twice a year. Cleaning the water reservoir is not easy.

The newer model of coffee machine has lower standards. The base plate material is peeling and the carafe cover release valve often drips coffee onto the plate.

I returned the coffee machine because the taste was not up to my liking. It was only OK and a bit acidic. It's not related to my coffee or water quality.
