The coffee maker performs better than some higher priced ones and is well-designed. I do wonder if the designer was left-handed since the basket grip is on the right side, where someone right-handed pours water into the reservoir.

The new coffee maker feels flimsier and lighter than the outgoing unit. The filter basket doesn't fill the entire cavity any longer, and the lid has to be pressed down harder than before to make a seal. So, I gave it 4 stars for quality/sturdiness compared to the older one.

The coffee machine has a cheap plastic hinge and gets too hot, causing the plastic to give way. The build quality is pretty sad, and I will likely return it for something better.
