I found that the scan tool detects both manufacturer specific codes and generic codes, including those that cause inspection failures.
When I first got the INNOVA 3120RS, it looked intimidating, but it is quite easy to use for basic information.
The scanner boots up quickly and has faster live scanning performance updates than 1hz. Unlike most scanners that update live data every 1-5 seconds, this one updates every half second or so, making it easier to diagnose issues.

I have found that the app that pairs with this scanner is the best OBD scanning app I have ever used. I have used quite a few with all the cheapo bluetooth OBD readers I have had.
