About Augustine Classic Blue Nylon Guitar Strings
Overall Feedback:
86% positive
74% appreciated the long-lasting strings, though 26% experienced premature wear
The three bass strings give a deep but bright tone of high quality, nicer than any other classical strings I have tried.
The top three nylons are not great and lack the lovely brightness of Reds or Blues.
Even the best strings (Aquila Nylgut) have a short shelf life.
Even the best strings have a short shelf life, indicating durability is an issue with classical-guitar-strings.
66% found it easy to install, but 34% found it difficult
I find it easy to bar chord on complicated pieces.

69% liked the ease of playability, but 31% found it too stiff
I find that the three bass strings in this string set provide a deep but bright tone, while the top three nylons are not up to the mark and are a bit quiet and dull, lacking the brightness that I get from Reds or Blues.

For high-tension strings, the sound is really muffled.
The last two sets of strings I purchased have been different. After stretching them in, they have become dull and lost their wonderful volume.
I recently purchased two sets of strings that have been different. After getting them stretched in, they have been somewhat dull and the wonderful volume that I was used to has disappeared.
72% praised for its consistent string quality
It took about an hour for my nylon strings to stretch, which is quite normal. However, I was surprised at the tonal improvement of my guitar.
I have noticed that higher tension of the strings prevents buzzing and the action has not increased much.
65% praised for its rich and warm tone, while 35% found it lacking clarity
I find that the strings have a nice clear tone and balanced sustain, and are not too boomy like gold bass strings.
Augustine Black strings produce a clear tone with balanced sustain and are not too boomy like gold bass strings.
The strings are loosely wrapped, noisy, and full of errant vibrating that does not contribute to the tone.

When I shift the position, the red card Augustines produce a loud sound.
The sound for high-tension strings is muffled and they don't stay in tune long. I would have been better off playing the worn set I replaced with these.
After a couple of hours of playing, the strings stayed in tune and sounded even better the next morning. The DAddario set took 3 days to stay in tune, for example.
