When I was surfing around on Amazon a few weeks ago, I came across a Freud blade that was under 40 bucks, and I started reading reviews, and they were talking about how sharp it was, and I was curious to see if it was better than another blade.

I get a new blade every now and then, but I always forget how nice it is to have a new one, and I will try to keep it in good condition until I need to replace it.

The Freud Diablo ATB Combination Saw Blade is a welcome addition to the shop, as it does a nice job crosscutting and is a wide range of blades from thin kerf blades to Craftsman blades and others.

Even though a brand is good, a dull or damaged blade is worse than a good one. Forrest WWII blades are very nice, but 3x the cost only gets you 10% more performance plus larger teeth for re

This blade is an excellent all round blade that leaves an excellent finish with a relatively high tooth count but still retains an excellent rip cut capability due to the deep gullets.

    Question & Answers

    Q:

Would this blade be able to cut a flat bottom dado?

    A:

If you want to make smooth multiple passes for a dado, the more expensive version is Freud LU84R011 which has a flat bottom edge on the first tooth after each gullet.

    Q:

Do you think this blade would work for ripping finished hardwood?

    A:

If the cabinets are made from solid wood, this blade will do great, it leaves almost sanded smooth edges if your saw is setup right.

    Q:

Why are the vents printed on?

    A:

The vents are through-cut, then filled with rubbery material, which is far quieter than the stock blades that come with most saws.

    Q:

Is it possible that these are really made in China?

    A:

The blade is a good value and I am happy with it, but who knows what will happen in the future?

    Q:

Will this blade work on the table saw I just bought?

    A:

It has a 5/8" bore and is 10" in diameter.
