I can fit my huge, over 7.5 feet and very full tree in the storage bag with room to spare even after adding lights, tree skirt, and tree star.
I used a box to keep the shape of the bag a rectangle, following someone's suggestion.
I wanted the bag to fit on a shelf, so I cut the top off of the box that the Christmas tree came in, placed the box inside of the bag, placed the tree inside, zipped it up! It works great and sits nicely on the shelf.
I had to purchase a third bag because the bag was not big enough to hold my tree.
