About Worx Nitro 40V 16" Cordless Chainsaw Power Share PRO with Brushless Motor
Overall Feedback:
88% positive
77% appreciated the bar length
I tried a large 16” chainsaw and it cut through in a matter of seconds.
The chainsaw is held like a gas chainsaw and the 16 inch blade is perfect for cutting larger logs.
88% liked the safety features, though 12% found them inadequate
I recommend engaging the break before setting the chainsaw down and removing one of the batteries when transporting it, even across the yard. It's not safe to assume that an electric saw is safer than a gas saw, as it can come alive from a dead silence. It's better to get experience with a gas saw before going electric.
The saw has a lock/unlock safety bar, which is traditionally seen on a gas powered saw.
I have noticed that the safety feature does not work when the chain jumps the bar. It should shut the saw off immediately, which is a serious safety concern. I am dissatisfied with the engineering of the product.
85% were satisfied with the vibration levels
I recommend using hearing protection as the chain noise exceeds safe hearing thresholds, even though the motor is silent.
81% were satisfied with the chain type and sharpness, but 19% weren't
I appreciate the use of normal bar and chain oil in this saw and the built-in lubrication tank.
The preinstalled cutting chain on my saw is a smaller, sharp, thin kerf chain that cuts as well as new after a few sessions.
The chain slips and damages all the drive teeth on the saw, making it impossible to fit back into the slot on the bar.
92% liked the engine power
The 40v model is more powerful and the 4Ah battery packs provide decent operating time for most cutting needs.
I was able to cut down two 30 ft. dead ash trees and several other stumps down to ground level with 75% battery life left.
I advise wearing goggles for safety as the chain has flown off a few times. Although the auto tensioner should prevent this, my experience suggests otherwise.
I find the chainsaw's alarm extremely annoying when it kicks in after coming off the throttle. It is assumed to be a warning that the saw is still powered on, but I find it very annoying.
